CHARLES E. "CHUCK" "CHARLIE" COWELL age 79; passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Lynn) for 60 years. Loving father of Kathy Saul (Dan), Bryan (Rita) and Beth Richards (Dan). Cherished grandfather of Sarah McGervey (Larry), Larisa and Lidija Cowell, Annie and Emma Saul, and Sophia, Chloe and Ethan Richards. Great-grandfather of Waylon, Norah, Liam and Colette McGervey. Preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Kathryn (nee Russell), brothers James, Robert and Russell. Loving brother to Joanna Throckmorton, Donald, Gary, Ronald and Keith. As a young man in Waynesburg, PA., he was active in 4H and dairy judging at Penn State. Chuck spent 30 years at Republic Steel. After retirement at age 48, he started Williamsburg Cleaners. Later in life, Chuck became involved in mission trips traveling to Haiti, Jamaica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Mexico. He was a member of Bay Village Kiwanis Club and Acacia Lodge F & AM #651. There will be a MEMORIAL SERVICE AT JOHN KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, (25200 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted) SUNDAY, MARCH 5th at 3:00 PM. A reception will take place at church following services. In lieu of flowers please consider sending a gift to The Charles Cowell Memorial Mission Fund at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 25200 Lorain Road North Olmsted, OH 44070. The fund will be used to purchase/install Living Water purification systems in rural villages in Guatemala and for a scholarship for a JKPC youth to go on the Youth Mission trip. Chuck took numerous trips to Guatemala to build houses, install water systems and to be with and among the people. His impact on people's lives was significant.
